 Manus Christi

Latin for "Hands of Christ," Manus Christi is an active reflection of St. Teresa's words mixing vibrant prayer, engaging catechesis and formation, and significant service amongst those in need. Students in grades 9-12 will have the opportunity to encounter Christ while learning and living the concepts of personal dignity, the common good, solidarity, and subsidiarity.

This week-long service and mission experience will take place at the Mary Help of Christians Pastoral Center in Huttonsivlle, WV from June 15-20, 2020.

The total cost is $380 for youth and chaperones. Transportation is included and will be provided by the Diocese of Greensburg. A portion of the fee ($190) is eligible for the Francis Fund grant. Please make sure to fill-out the youth application and submit it by January 2, 2020.

Please note:
Chaperone spaces are limited to 1 adult for every 5 youth registered. Registration must be completed through the group leader only.

$25/person Deposit due October 15, 2019 or when all spots are filled.

 Adventure

In addition to traditional prayer experiences and service opportunities, we will have access to the summer camp amenities at the Mary Help of Christians Pastoral Center. A pool with a 90 ft. water slide, climbing tower, and zip line will all be used to incorporate Catholic social teachings.

 Accommodations

The Diocese of Wheeling-Charleston has recently turned this upscale pastoral center with hotel-style rooms into a center for youth evangelization at the service of those in need. From every room having its own bathroom, the dining room’s breathtaking views, to the beautiful art on the walls, this is an ideal setting to encounter Christ. From here, groups will serve in the surrounding areas of Randolph and Pocahontas counties.

 Depth of Relationship

The Catholic Church has been ministering to the people in the Tygart Valley for over 70 years through the agricultural ministry of the Salesians and the hospitality of those who live and work with the MHCPC. We partner with Catholic Charities and Habitat for Humanity to serve our neighbors, and we are in this for the long haul.
